I’ve been giving Triumph treats to my Springer Spaniel, Reggie, for a while now. They are indeed a nice size for training and he sure does seem to love ’em! The ingredients list seems relatively clean compared to some other brands as well; it gives me peace of mind knowing I’m not loading him up on unnecessary additives. But yeah, they’re a bit pricy.

One thing I’ve found though is that these can be a tad hard for Reggie sometimes, especially now that he’s getting into his golden years. He doesn’t seem bothered by it but I can’t shake the worry, ya know? So, occasionally, I switch to softer treats or tear these ones into smaller pieces for him.

Do any of you have an alternative that’s softer but still appealing in taste? Preferably something that won’t break the bank? Would love to exchange some ideas here!

Totally on board with the positive reviews of Canine Carry Outs dog treats here. As a proud fur parent to my Golden Retriever, Rocky, these are our go-to for training and little treat time. The size is perfect, not too large that he chomps down immediately but not so small that it seems negligible. The price point will certainly keep your wallet happy as well!

Now, let’s talk durability. They don’t easily crumble in your pocket which is a major plus for me since I’m always on the move with Rocky for long walks or fun at the park. But again, always monitor your dog while they’re treating, since every dog is different.

Just a tip though – I found that it helps to gradually introduce new treats into your dog’s diet if you’re switching over from another brand. Suddenly changing can sometimes lead to upset tummies! Has anyone else experienced this?

Merrick Treats – My Trusted Dog Training Buddy

Body: I just couldn’t agree more with everyone’s feedback here about Merrick dog treats. They’ve been an absolute game-changer in my training sessions with my Rough Collie, Beethoven. The size is perfect, small enough not to distract him from his task for too long; he really does a quick munch and ready for the next command.

To highlight durability, these treats have been terrific, they don’t crumble or make a mess which has kept my pockets clean! As far the price goes, they may be slightly on the higher-end but in my opinion, it’s definitely worth it for the quality you’re getting.

A quick tip for anyone considering Merrick for training; introduce them sparingly at first. Beethoven was so smitten by these that one time he got slightly distracted during training. So slow and steady works best!

Seeing him enjoy something that also aids his progress is pretty satisfying as a dog parent!

I’ve gotta agree here about the Nudges Natural Dog Treats! They are indeed top-notch. My German Shepherd, Max, is a notoriously picky eater but he went gaga over these treats. The size is just right for him to chew easily and I love how they’re made with real meat as the first ingredient. Plus, it doesn’t hurt that they’re quite affordable compared to other natural dog treats out there. Just remember not to substitute these treats for balanced meals, folks! Have any of you tried their grillers variety? Max seems to love those even more!

Agreeing wholeheartedly with previous posts, Minties have been a go-to treat for our Dalmatian, Pongo. A plus we have noticed- the size and hardness of the Minties really seem to jumpstart his gnawing instincts which is great for dental hygiene but without making him uncomfortable or risking damage to his teeth. I’d say they are sturdy but not excessively hard. On the price point, I think they offer pretty good value considering the quality and longevity per treat. My advice would be, though, introduce them gradually especially if your pooch is not used to hard treats otherwise they might find it a bit overwhelming. Ever wondered what other brands people have tried and liked apart from Minties?

realy interesting to hear all your differing experiences with Dingo dog treats! I’ve been using them for my sprightly Border Collie, annd personally find them a bit on the large side. She struggles a little to chew them up, so I usually break them into smaller pieces for her. Can’t deny they’re durable though – lost one under the couch once and found it months later still in mint condition! 😆 As an alternate suggestion, have any of you tried Bob’s Biscuits? Similar price point, but they come in various sizes that might be easier for some of our petite pals to manage.

Just to throw in my two cents here – I’ve got a Shiba Inu who’s also quite the fussy eater. Tried the Hollywood Stars treats and he turned his nose up at them. Which was surprising considering the rave reviews from other owners! What worked for us was Zesty Paws Calming Bites. They’re exceedingly tasty to him and helps with his anxiety too. If you’ve got a finicky four-legger, it might be worth giving Zesty Paws a go?

Well, let’s just parade down the DreamBone lane with my Frenchie, Alfie, who’s not as easily wooed by these tasty treats. Sure, they’ve got nice chew and are pocket friendly – a budget-friendly treat that wouldn’t have you breaking the bank. But someone explain to me why Alfie thinks it’s more fun to play ‘hide-n-seek’ with them rather than chow down!

Has anyone else encountered their dog turning into Indiana Bones over these treats? Or is Alfie far too engulfed in his treasure hunt fantasy? Maybe your pups could give some “how-to-enjoy-your-treat” lessons to my adventurous little buddy here.

And before you suggest it, yes we’ve tried other brands. In fact, those have been scarfed down so fast I’ve wondered if he even chewed! Just goes to show how unique each pup can be, eh? Always a mystery with these furry friends of ours.

Canidae Grain Free: A Solid Choice
Just wanted to add in my two cents on Canidae’s Grain Free Pure series. I got a rescue lab mix last year that had all sorts of allergies, it was breaking my heart seeing him so uncomfortable with other foods we tried. Then we were recommended the Canidae Grain Free and boy, what a change! His coat is now shiny and he’s so much more lively. For anyone dealing with pups having allergy-like symptoms, this might be worth a shot! Of course it’s always best to consult a vet for any serious concerns as every dog is unique. Still, I’m certainly happy with how this food worked out for our little guy.

Couldn’t agree more with all the Greenies praise! I’ve had a fantastic experience with these treats with my Beagle, Daisy. They’re sturdy but not too hard for her to munch on – they actually help clean her teeth a bit (we still do regular brushing too though!). One thing worth mentioning – they can be a tad pricey, but considering the dual-functionality of treat and dental care, it’s worth it for us. Just make sure to get the right size for your pup’s breed. Any one else noticed a fresher breath from their dogs after using Greenies regularly?

So many Greenies fans, makes me smile! My Labradoodle, Mr. Noodles, is also part of the club. He’s quite large so we go for the Large size Greenies. The price yeah, not the cheapest out there – but seeing his eyes light up when I take out that bag – priceless! They aren’t just treats though – they keep his teeth nice and clean, too (But remember, a treat isn’t a substitute for regular vet visits and dental checks!). Anyone else got a big dog who goes nuts for Greenies like my Mr. Noodles?

I’m also with you guys on the Ollie dry food trend; been feeding Benchy, my Bloodhound, for around eight months now. Have you noticed any change in your pup’s coat quality or energy levels since switching? Benchy seem a bit more sprightly these days, though I know each dog reacts differently to food changes. I also like how it’s wallet friendly compared to other premium brands out there! Definitely agree about the vet aspect – I make sure Benchy gets checkups, especially given our switch from fresh food. Anybody else finding it cost-effective and noticing differences overall?

Totally agree with the sentiments here about Nutro treats. I’ve got a feisty little Boston Terrier who usually turns up her nose at most snacks, but she seems to really enjoy these. Even the size works well for her – not too big, not too small. As far as cost goes, I definitely feel like I’m getting value for my money with Nutro.

I also appreciate that they seem to be relatively mess-free, don’t leave a weird residue in her treat bag like some others we’ve tried. Anyone else noticed this? A small detail perhaps, but it does add to the overall positive experience for me.

Any other brands out there that offer this combo of size and cleanliness? Always open to new suggestions!

Oh yes, those Pet Pride dog treats are a hit for sure. I have a four-year-old Sheltie named Finn who simply cannot resist them! What I love the most is the size – they’re perfect for Finn’s smaller mouth and he doesn’t struggle to chew them, unlike some other brands we’ve tried. Plus, the ingredients list doesn’t send me into a panic (you know what I mean!), so it’s a win-win in our house. One tip though: make sure to seal the bag tight after each use or they may get a little tough. Anybody else notice this?

Adding my Two Cents on Pet Pride Dog Treats

I agree with the general consensus here, Pet Pride Dog treats didn’t quite hit the mark in our household either. Bought a pack as an experiment and my Labrador, Spot, seemed initially interested but soon lost his enthusiasm. The treats are an okay size for larger breeds, but I felt they lacked some flavor appeal or crunch factor. Perhaps, they would be more suited to smaller dogs without such advanced flavor preferences? The price is undoubtedly appealing though! If you’re finding these treats aren’t doing the trick, maybe try switching it up with a variety of flavors and textures from other brands? As always, keep an eye on their reaction to any new product. You know your dog best and if there’s any sort of negative reactions, consult a vet pronto.
