MemberI’ve got my two fur-babies, a Lab and a Boxer, on Instinct currently. Honestly, I haven’t seen such an improvement in their coats and overall energy before. One major plus point for me is that it’s grain-free. My Lab has some sensitivity to grains and this brand has worked wonders for her.
The price tag can be a bit steep compared to other brands on the market, but for me, quality trumps quantity any given day. Plus, they both absolutely love the taste (scored big on the flavor fronts too).
To break downs of steps a little: First off, I transitioned them very slowly over about two weeks. No sudden food changes in this household; we all know that can be a recipe for disaster!
Then I made sure to order from reliable retailers because there are some knock-offs floating around out there – ain’t no one got time for that.
All things said and done, Instinct gets two thumbs up from us! How about the rest of you guys? Any good/bad experiences?
Always love hearing from other dog parents. Cheers!
Paws and love,

MemberNow as for the smells… well, let’s be honest here, no dog food ever comes smelling like roses. Since it’s not my personal dining experience I’m more concerned with how good it is nutritionally than how appealing it might smell to me. 😅 And so far Nextrition has done wonders in that department.
The only small downside would be cost – It’s kinda pricey compared to what I used before but then again, you get what you pay for right? I see it as an investment in my Zoe’s health. So yep from this end, Nextrition gets paws up! 🐾 Just make sure your canine buddy likes the taste as well – every good boy and girl has their own preferences after all! 😉

MemberI did some reading up myself about Pure Balance before I picked it out, apparently their ingredients are natural and without unnecessary fillers – sounds like good news eh? I’ve gathered they don’t use soy, wheat or corn, all of which can be tricky for dogs to digest. And this stuff doesn’t have any by-products either. If you ask me, I believe a happy dog starts with what we put in their bowl.
It’s slightly more expensive than the grocery store brands we’d used earlier, but seeing how it has turned around Sparky’s health is totally worth it in my eyes. If any of your fur buddies are struggling with food sensitivities or allergies, give this a shot – worked wonders for us!
Remember every pup is unique thogh – our dog friends deserve a diet crafted just for them so make sure to adjust as needed! Good luck to you and your 4-legged buddy.

MemberI did have some reservations at first because, well, it’s wild game and all but I made sure Bella had regular check-ups to make sure everything ran smoothly – vet says she’s doing great!
The major plus is the high protein content – I think it’s brilliant for active dogs. Plus all those fruits and veggies in as well? Really a balanced meal for our furry friends!
But gotta say…it is a bit pricey compared to some other brands out there. Let’s be real though, we’re talking about our fur babies’ health here…worth every penny if you ask me! However do keep in mind, not all dogs react the same way to different foods.
Has anyone else had similar experiences? Or maybe tried their other flavors?”

MemberOne reason I trust this brand is its whole meat formula – no filler or by-products in sight. It can be a bit pricier compared to others out there but you know the saying, right? “You are what you eat” and for pups, that couldn’t be more true.
Just remember though, each dog is different so what works for Bailey might not work for others. Maybe start off with a small bag just to see how your pup reacts. Here’s to finding the perfect chow for our fur babies!
CuriousTerrier9423
MemberThe ingredients list is pretty impressive compared to other brands, I must admit. It’s packed with real meat, veggies and no filler stuff like corn or soy, which is perfect as Max has a sensitive stomach. Plus, it’s nice knowing you’re giving your furry friend something that’s not only tasty but really healthy too.
If I have one criticism though, it would be the price. Ha! But then again quality doesn’t come cheap, does it? The old saying “you get what you pay for” rings true here and fortunately, Max agrees! Gotta do what’s best for our four-legged buddies. Hope this helps!

MemberI recently switched my pup over to Acana dog food and I’m extremely happy with the results so far. She’s a finicky eater and was having some stomach issues with her previous food, but we’ve seen a big change since the swap. Her coat is glossier, she seems to have more energy, and above all, no more tummy troubles!
They’ve got a variety of recipes too which is pretty neat, every once in a while I’ll switch it up for her so she doesn’t get bored. Another thing worthy of mention, they source their ingredients locally here in Canada and prioritize nutritional balance so that gives me confidence.
The only downside I’d say is the cost, it’s pricier than most brands out there but in my humble opinion, worth every penny given how much it’s improved my girl’s overall health and wellbeing. Better safe than sorry when it comes to what our pups are ingesting, right?
Hope this helps anyone considering switching over to Acana!

MemberI’ve got my Golden Retriever on Maev and she’s doing great on it! It took a little while for her to adjust, but now she gobbles up each serving. What I really appreciate is that the food is grain-free and uses real meat — no vague “animal derivatives” or stuff like that. And the pre-portioned servings based on her weight and activity level? Total game-changer! No more guessing if I’m over or under feeding her.
The downside thogh, it’s on the pricier side compared to regular dog food. But honestly, seeing her so healthy and energetic, it’s completely worth it for me. Have you tried it yet?
