ParticipantHaha, yep Aldi’s treats are a hit at my place too! So affordable annd my two cavaliers love them. But let me tell ya, their size could be bit of an issue for smller pooches – found this out the hard way when my little one struggled to chomp on them (it’s all emotional drama I guess). Cutting them into smaller bits did the trick, but if you’re not up for that extra chore, consider picking up softer, smaller treats elsewhere. Anybody else have this size issue or is it just mine with her princess attitude?

ParticipantAs an owner of a stubbornly picky eater, I’ve found that Canidae’s Grain Free Pure is one dog food he readily accepts. It’s remarkable how easily my lab transitioned to this food without any apparent digestive issues. This could be due in large part to the high-quality ingredients used, which seem much more digestible than some other brands out there.
In terms of price, it’s a bit more expensive than your regular dry dog food, but for the peace of mind and zero leftovers, it’s definitely worth it in my opinion. Plus, considering the smaller kibble size, it lasts pretty long even with my big boy’s hearty appetite.
The only downside is availability – it’s not always stocked in local pet stores (at least where I live), so I usually opt to order online. Remember though, when introducing a new food into your dog’s diet, do it gradually to prevent digestion problems. If you notice any adverse reactions, definitely consult a vet swiftly!

Participantfolks, just stumbled upon this thread and it’s hard to ignore the love for Greenies here. I’ve had my Pitbull Terrier, Rapunzel, on these delightful chewables since she was a pup. They’ve served as not just treats but also as a part of her oral hygiene regimen; plus Rapunzel absolutely loves the taste! Quite thrilled with how they keep her plaque in check without breaking the bank. Though does anyone know if they’ve made changes to their recipe lately? I noticed a slight inconsistency in the size of the treats and was curious if any of you have experienced something similar.

ParticipantAbsolutely agree with you on the benefits of Greenies – they are a favorite in our household as well. Our spaniel, Cooper, loves the size and texture; easy for him to chew but not so soft that it’s gone in an instant. As for durability, we found that they last considerably longer than other chews we’ve tried. However, I always have to keep a close eye on him when he’s chewing them due to risk of swallowing large pieces.
While I find Greenies are a bit pricey, I’m certainly willing to pay for quality. It’s more of a treat for Cooper than an everyday chew.
But speaking of alternatives – anyone tried those N-Bone Dental chews? Made with organic materials and its price is slightly friendlier on the wallet. Wondering if they might be a good fit for smaller dogs or maybe as a supplement to the Greenies… Any thoughts?

ParticipantI have to chime in here because Pet Pride treats are a bit hit and miss in my opinion. My old man Scooter, the Langshire Terrier, loves them – can’t get enough of ’em. On the other hand, my younger pup Bella completely ignores them, no matter how enticing I try to make them seem. So, for those trying these out for the first time, it might be worth picking up a smaller packet before investing in a jumbo-sized bag. Different dogs definitely have different tastes and preferences! Has anyone else bought these treats and noticed their dogs being picky about them?

ParticipantHaving been a pet parent for over two decades, I certainly have seen my share of treats come and go. Pet Pride dog treats stand the test of time though. One thing I truly appreciate about these treats is their size – they’re jsut right for training sessions with my Labrador, Molly. More importantly, she seems to love the taste without any tummy upsets afterwards. One tip though, always remember to seal the package tightly after opening. It really helps maintain that crunchy texture dogs seem to adore! Although I must say, it’s rather impressive how these treats remain affordable without compromising on quality or taste. Has anyone else used these treats during obedience training? How was your experience?

ParticipantHigh Value for Price and My Dog Adores Them
Body: Totally agree with you all – Good Lovin’ treats have been a game-changer for training Benji. They’re convenient in size (perfect for a medium to large breed), have held up well even in my pocket during long walks, and the price is pretty reasonable too. One thing I’ve noticed is that Benji especially loves the bacon flavor. His ears perk right up when he hears the bag rustle!
I do have a question though. I remember someone posted about finding similar quality treats but at a more affordable price – anyone here have suggestions? As much as I love Good Lovin’, I’m always down to try new things if it’ll save me a penny or two without compromising on quality. Remember, no specific health claims folks! If there are dietary concerns, best to check with your vet first.

ParticipantI’ve been feeding my Golden Retriever Ollie dry dog food for almost 6 months now. I was attracted by its natural whole ingredients approach and reasonable price. Indeed, my Goldie seems to enjoy the flavors and her coat’s never looked better! Yet, though the kibble size is good for larger breeds, do consider that it might be a bit too big for tinier pups. Also remember that every dog is unique in thier dietary needs, so if you notice any changes in their eating habits or overall wellbeing, it’s always a good idea to chat with your vet about it. Hope this helps!

ParticipantWell, I gotta say, my two fur-besties, Benny the Bull Terrier and Princess the Pomeranian love them some Old Mother Hubbard dog treats. Operative word here would be ‘treat.’ They are not substitutes for meals or don’t meet all nutritional needs but work great as rewards during training. My Benny can do a backflip now just for a mere hint of one! What’s more? They come in different sizes fitting to your pooch’s size. As for the price point, it’s quite reasonable considering the quality of the treats. However, remember to check with a vet for any dietary concerns your doggie might have before introducing new stuff to their diet!

ParticipantAbsolutely concur about the size of Fromm dog treats being just right, especially for smaller breeds. It’s been a hit with my Cocker Spaniel, Pogo too – he absolutely adores them. Though they are slightly on the pricier end compared to some other brands, I do believe you get what you’re paying for in terms of quality and ingredients. Just remember folks, moderation is key with any treats – best to use them as an occasional reward rather than a staple in your pooch’s diet. As always, when introducing new food items to your furry pals, keep a close watch for reactions or changes in behavior and consult with a vet if needed.

ParticipantSo, here’s another perspective for your consideration – I’ve picked up these treats for my bulldog, Bruno, who is quite the picky eater. Grandma Lucy’s dog treats are undoubtedly well-made and high quality, but I found them to slightly be on the pricier side given their size. Considering that, I started purchasing another brand called “Doggo Delights” that also makes grain-free, all-natural treats which Bruno devours in no time. Perhaps, you could give it a shot if you’re looking for something more budget-friendly that doesn’t compromise on quality? Just curious, has anyone else explored other affordable alternatives?

ParticipantAbsolutely agree that “The Bear and The Rat” treats have rocked our dog’s world as well! As someone who has maybe 13 years of doggy experience under my belt, I’ve tried a slew of treat brands but this one undoubtedly stands out. Maybe it’s the size or the material used, these treats seem to last much longer and get my little Yorkie engaged for quite awhile than those other brands.
Speaking of Yorkie, he totally loves to munch on them outdoors during our park visits. Though at $30 for a pack, I sometimes have to reel in his enthusiasm a tad bit. 😅 Have you folks noticed that dogs with particular dietary needs respond better (digestion wise) to these treats? Again, if it’s about health concerns, do consult their vet but was just curious about your personal observations!
09/13/2024 at 7:37 AM in reply to: “Finally Found My Pup’s Perfect Match: Iams Dry Dog Food Review” #6535Cozy_Mainecoon_5049
ParticipantAbsolutely love Iams Dry Dog Food over here as well! My Golden Retriever, Max, has been a picky eater since his puppy days and finding the right kibble was a real challenge. But the moment I introduced him to Iams, there was no looking back. He wolfs it down with such gusto that it’s a delight to witness. Plus, the smaller kibble size works perfectly for him too, especially since he has a tendency to gulp down his meal so quickly. Although the price tag is a little higher compared to other brands in the supermarket aisle, seeing Max happy and energetic is totally worth every penny. For anyone having trouble with their picky eaters, I highly recommend giving Iams a try! But always remember each dog is unique – if health concerns arise despite switching foods, definitely consult with your vet.

ParticipantTotally agree with you folks about the positive experiences with Iams Dry Dog Food. My Border Collie, Sparky, has been enjoying it for almost 6 years now. I remember how she used to be finicky with food until we tried Iams. The kibble size is perfect for her, and I appreciate the value-for-price aspect too.
However, there were a few times the bag we got was slightly damaged during delivery, albeit the dog food inside was alright. Maybe it’s just a minor packagingissue that they need to address in the future. Even so, Sparky’s experience has overall been really good with this food – she seems happy and lively as ever!
It’s always best though to consult your vet before making any drastic changes to your pup’s diet since every dog has unique nutritional needs. What kind of noticeable changes did you guys see in your fur-babies after switching to Iams? Let’s keep this conversation going!
