Anyone else has similar long-term experiences? Or some hacks to deter chewing?

To deter him from chewing, I’ve smeared some bitter apple spray on the corners annd initially, he didn’t like the taste of it. Now, I just use it occasionally as a reminder and so far it’s worked well for us. But does anyone else have any good suggestions? There’s always room for more tips when trying to outsmart a sneaky lab! Haha.

I got my Coolaroo dog bed about 2 years ago and it’s been a blessing. Rusty, my labrador, loves it to bits (literally, at first😅). I like that it’s airy ‘n keeps him cool in summers which helps a lot due to his thick fur.

Noticed the chewing issue popped up here too. In addition to bitter apple spray, I tried a lil hack thanks to some good old cayenne pepper. Sprinkled just a bit around the corners of the bed annd voila…no more teeth on the bed! So you might wanna give that a try if your pooch is a gnawer like Rusty.

Keep us posted on how things go with your Coolaroo!

I totally agree with you guys! Got my own Coolaroo maybe 3 years back for my German shepherd, Bella. Since then, it’s been her favourite chill spot – rain or shine! It’s specially great in summers because of its cooling effect – way less panting I’ve noticed. As for the chewing, not to worry, she too had a phase but grew out of it eventually. Anyways, have any of yuo tried adding an extra blanket on top for additional comfort and warmth during winter months? Doing this made a huge diffrence for our fur-baby in colder weather.

friends! Agreed with the love for the Coolaroo dog bed here. We got one for our Lab, Baxter, and he’s been absolutely in love, can be picky about his sleeping arrangements but this? He jumped right in!

The elevated design really helps keep him cool and comfy, especially during those hotter months. It’s super easy to clean too – just a quick wipe down and it’s like brand new. Some folks might be worried about assembly, but trust me, it’s no biggie. If I managed (with my infamous lack of handiness), you sure will.

One tip though – picking the right size is key. We initially got a medium that ended up being too small for Baxter and had to switch to a large. So, maybe consider sizing up if you’re unsure.

Who else has a coolaroo at home? Did your pup take to it straight away or was there a bit of an adjustment period?
