I’ve been feeding my Golden Retriever mix, Jasper, Canidae dry dog food for about a year now and we’re really happy with it. The kibble size is just right for him (he’s a big boy!) and I can tell it’s made with decent quality ingredients by the smell of it. I tried switching to another brand once to shave off some expense, but that move backfired. Jasper started losing interest in his meals and would often leave half uneaten. As soon as I switched back to Canidae, he was finishing up every last bit!

Now, I’m not saying this will be the case with every dog out there, they all have their own personal tastes after all. But from Jasper’s perspective and mine, Canidae certainly seems worth the price tag.

Does anyone else here have similar experiences where their pooch preferred Canidae over other brands? Or maybe even any alternatives you’d suggest we should give a try?

My big ol’ German Shepherd, Bruno, has been scarfing down the Canidae All Life Stages formula for close to two years now. I notice his coat feels much smoother than before and he’s got a peppy step all through our morning walks. The food isn’t too chunky for him to chew on, which is a plus as Bruno tends to gobble things up too quickly sometimes. It’s also economical; I mean sure it’s slightly pricier than some other brands, but lasts long enough that I don’t feel the pinch. All in all, kudos to Canidae for creating something Bruno enjoys and that fits my budget. If you’re noticing any digestion issues though, I’d recommend visiting the vet, as it could be a sign of an intolerance or allergy. How have other fur parents experienced this transition? Any tips for slow feeders perhaps that could compliment this food?!

I have a small Shih Tzu named Daisy who’s also on the Canidae All Life Stages formula. Despite her picky eating habits, she gobbles it right up and seems to really enjoy it. I noticed that the kibble size is perfect for her small teeth too. My question is, for those of you with larger breeds like German Shepherds or Retrievers, does the kibble size work well for them too or do you find yourself wishing it was bigger? The price point works for me but just wanted to hear other’s experiences with this.

Oh, Canidae’s dry food? My lovably stubborn bulldog, Biscuit, has been happily munching away the All Life Stages formula for several months now. Despite her choosy eating habits and more rolls than a bakery, she seems to love it – bowl gone in a blink kind of love. As far as the price goes, well, I won’t lie, it’s a bit on the pricey side, but let me tell you something we dog owners know deep down – good food is all about balance and not stuffing them with filler materials. No concerns so far (touch wood), but always be ready to chat up your friendly neighborhood vet if anything seems offbeat!

I’m in agreement with the Canidae dry dog food praises being that our energetic Golden Retriever, Sunny, has been thriving on it for about a year now. What really impresses me is that despite it being a bit pricier, you certainly get your money’s worth because of the ingredients quality and balance; I feel assured knowing Sunny’s getting a nutritious meal. One surprising thing we noted is less waste in our yard too which, to me, says Sunny’s really absorbing the beneficial components of the food. Has anyone else noticed less mess with Canidae? As always, consult your vet especially if your furry friend has specific dietary needs!

I can see a lot of love for the Canidae All Life Stages formula here. Anyone tried their Grain Free Pure Ancestral Line? My partner happened to pick a bag of the Avian Formula for our sprightly little Beagle, Buster. He’s usually pretty adventurous with his palate, but he just wasn’t as excited about this brand. Wondering if it’s my pup or perhaps others have had similar experiences with this line?

Agreeing wholeheartedly with the praises here! I’ve spent years trying different foods for my picky Shiba Inu, Saki. When I switched to Canidae’s Grain Free Pure, she practically inhaled it – a reaction I had never seen before. She’s a little on the smaller side for her breed, and I’ve found the kibble size perfect for her. It’s noticeably less smelly than other brands we’ve tried, too. It may be slightly pricier but seeing her excited for mealtime? Totally worth it!

Anyone else observed their pup eating faster with this brand? Just on note of caution: while slow feeders weren’t necessary with prior food, you might want to introduce one if your pup hoovers it up like Saki does!

Canidae Grain Free: A Solid Choice
Just wanted to add in my two cents on Canidae’s Grain Free Pure series. I got a rescue lab mix last year that had all sorts of allergies, it was breaking my heart seeing him so uncomfortable with other foods we tried. Then we were recommended the Canidae Grain Free and boy, what a change! His coat is now shiny and he’s so much more lively. For anyone dealing with pups having allergy-like symptoms, this might be worth a shot! Of course it’s always best to consult a vet for any serious concerns as every dog is unique. Still, I’m certainly happy with how this food worked out for our little guy.

there! Yes, I’ve tried Canidae’s Grain Free Pure with my 5-year-old lab, and so far it’s been a real hit. It’s slightly expensive but we’ve decided to stick with it because the premium ingredients have greatly improved her coat – it’s never been this shiny! An additional plus is that the kibble size is perfect for larger breeds like my Lab. That said, if you’re dealing with a budget constraint, Blue Buffalo Wilderness High Protein Grain Free offers similar benefits at a slightly lower cost. Always remember if you’re planning on switching foods, gradually mix it in over a course of 10 days or so to avoid digestive issues. And as always, consult a vet before making big changes to your pupper’s diet.
Has anyone else here tried Blue Buffalo? How does your pooch like it?

As an owner of a stubbornly picky eater, I’ve found that Canidae’s Grain Free Pure is one dog food he readily accepts. It’s remarkable how easily my lab transitioned to this food without any apparent digestive issues. This could be due in large part to the high-quality ingredients used, which seem much more digestible than some other brands out there.

In terms of price, it’s a bit more expensive than your regular dry dog food, but for the peace of mind and zero leftovers, it’s definitely worth it in my opinion. Plus, considering the smaller kibble size, it lasts pretty long even with my big boy’s hearty appetite.

The only downside is availability – it’s not always stocked in local pet stores (at least where I live), so I usually opt to order online. Remember though, when introducing a new food into your dog’s diet, do it gradually to prevent digestion problems. If you notice any adverse reactions, definitely consult a vet swiftly!

I’ve been feeding Canidae’s Grain Free Pure to my aging golden retriever for a few months now. On first try, my ordinarily picky eater definitely took to this food quite well. It’s worth noting that the kibble size is small and easy to chew, which makes it ideal for senior dogs like mine with dental problems. Regarding its price, although a bit higher than other brands, I found that the quality and nutritional balance certainly justify the cost. However, always consult with your vet before changing your dog’s diet.

What alternative foods have anyone here tried for dogs with sensitive stomachs? Do they compare well with Canidae’s Grain Free Pure in terms of digestibility and taste?

Look, 10 years in the dog-growing business and I’ve seen my share of food trials. Canidae’s Grain Free Pure certainly earns a good boy badge for quality ingredients, but Kibble Souls might need an extra-treat kind of wallet size to constantly afford it. I swung my lovable Beagle, Rufus, onto Natural Balance Limited Ingredient Diets instead (sorta like half the price with almost equal ingredient pedigree). Let’s just say that our budget got friendlier and Rufus seems as happy and spry as ever. Please bear in mind that food transitions should be done gradually and observing your dog’s reactions is key. If their tummy doesn’t agree or you notice any changes in behavior, it’s best to consult a vet pronto. Any other affordable but The Good Stuff brands y’all can suggest?

Canidae Dry Food – A Staple in My Feeding Routine

I absolutely echo the praises for Canidae’s Grain Free Pure. Having a mixed breed fur kiddo who’s sensitive to grain, this food has been a heaven-send! I remember his first encounter with it—tail wagging, gobbling every bit, and even chasing the empty bowl. The bite-sized kibbles are perfect, no more worries about him choking or struggling to chew. Sure, other brands might be a tad less pricey but for me, seeing my pup enthusiastically enjoying his meals is worth every cent. Do you guys have any tips on how to store this food properly? The bag doesn’t have a resealable feature so I wanna make sure it stays fresh as long as possible!

I’ve also been using Canidae for my dogs over the past decade and noticed a big difference in thier energy levels. Even my picky eaters gobbled it up without hesitation! How are you finding the pricing in your area though? I’m buying it online, but I’ve heard some people find it less expensive in stores, which is not the case for me. Anyone else noticing discrepancies in prices depending on location?
