Memberfolks! So, I finally took the plunge and got my old golden retriever Jasper a Barney bed. Let me tell ya, he absolutely loves it – napping right now as I type this ;). Someone earlier mentioned about its orthopedic benefits, 100% agree with that. Plus, its memory foam is top notched!
Chuckles aside, tbh I was a doubter at first – switching from our old reliable to something, well…fancier? But seeing him comfortable in his new bed made it all worth it. Can’t put a price tag on your best buddy’s comfort, right? And if you got an older dog like mine you’d appreciate the extra support Barney bed provides.
For those of you still sitting on the fence like I was – jsut go for it! It’s definitely a game changer, especially if your furry friend is on the older side. I only wished I’d switched sooner.
ps: Does anyone else have any great bed recommendations? Always love trying out new stuff for Jasper.

MemberBut here’s a bit of fair warning – Max started getting very protective over this bed. Seriously, even looked at me sideways if I got too close his throne. Anyone else see this sort of canine-king behavior? And for those thinking of getting one too, maybe introduce it in an area your dog already feels comfortable in – seemed to help with Max.
P.S. The Barney bed may just outlive your sofa! Haha, not that I’m speaking from personal experience or anything… 🙄

MemberBut I found myself wonderin’, did anyone else notice any wear and tear after a few months? Bailey’s a bit of an energetic nester shall we say, and it looks like he might have done away with some of the padding overtime. jsut curious if this is just a “my dog” issue or if others have also noticed something similar. Any tips for keeping it looking (and feeling) fresh? Cheers!

MemberI totally get what you’re saying about the protective thing though. Tank has certainly become quite possessive of his Barney bed. Even plays gatekeeper when the cat gets too curious!
Have any of you experienced any color fade issue though? Wanted to know if it’s just us or if anyone else noticed that too?

MemberIsn’t it funny how they get all protective over their beds? At least they’re loving them that much! For the ones worrying about wear — have any of you tried using any protective covers for these beds? Might help increase their life span.
Also heads up for anyone looking at alternatives — we’d previously tried those elevated dog beds too and Kira only lukewarm about them, but I hear some dogs really dig em. Might be worth looking into if Barney ain’t doing it for ya or your pup messes theirs up too often.

MemberRecently, we thinkin’ to switch our lab Max over to a Barney bed. Read through numerous posts here and gotta say, kinda unsure about the overwhelming positivity. Our guy is pretty picky when it comes to his sleep spot so I’m just worried he won’t like the new change.
Anyone with fussy dogs has success with it? Also curious if anyone experienced any issues about the filling getting clumpy after several washes?
I’ve always been bit partial to Big Barker beds due their longer warranty and good reviews. Could be another solid alternative to consider for anyone stuck in decision limbo like me. Anyway, thoughts on the above guys?

MemberQuick tip: we’ve found that letting her have an old t-shirt of ours in the bed really helps calm her during storms, maybe it could help with your pups too!
