For those on the fence, just give it a go – it might seem pricy at first, but it really pays off not having to constantly replace shredded beds. Anybody else’s dog takes on their bed like a chew toy or is it just mine?

Just make the switch to a Kevlar dog bed a couple of weeks ago, and let me tell you, it’s bin great! My chew-happy Lab hasn’t managed to put so much as a dent in it. Super tough stuff, this Kevlar.

I was skeptical at first, especially considering the price tag. But seeing my pup struggle to tear it apart (for once), worth every penny!

Anyone else worried about their dog getting too fond of the Kevlar taste though?

Won’t lie tho, Marly took some time getting used to the change , so just be patient if your pooch doesn’t warm up to it instantly. And, got a tip from my vet – spritzing the new bed with a familiar scent (like an old blanket) could make that transition smoother.

I’m curious tho, anyone tried the Kevlar beds for super large breeds? Like Great Danes or mastiffs? How are they holding up?

Totally hear those of you who’s furry friends took their sweet time getting used to it though! Jackso was the same at first. My advice? Stick with it. For those still considering—do your wallet (and sanity) a favor make the switch sooner rather than later. You won’t regret it.

I wonder if the folks who’ve made the swap have all seen reduced chewing? Or maybe Jackso is unique in that sense? Would love to hear more experiences!

Totally agree with Jacks! When I first brought a Kevlar bed for my German Shepard, Mika, it sat untouched in the corner for a good week. I guess she was just testing my patient haha. But when she finally did make the switch, there was no going back as if se had an epiphany that dog sleeping comfort can be taken to another level!

And bonus points for its durability. The Kevlar material has stood up like a champ against her infamous scratching and digging bed-prep routine. Yes, it’s bit on the pricy side but consider all those beds we’ve thrown away over the years due to tear and wear, in long run you actually end up saving money.

So yeah, anyone contemplating getting one of these for thier pups, give it time. Your dog might take awhile to ajust but trust me the transtion is worth it. Anyone else found this true? Does your dog also took some time before falling in love with their kevlar bed?

Just wanted to note though – if anyone’s dog loves digging before settling down (like Bella does), don’t skip the warranty. Bella’s claws got a bit rough with it in first few months, annd we were glad we had one. To be fair, all other beds would’ve been already in shreds by that time!

On the other hand, I’m hearing this buzz about ballistic nylon beds these days. Anyone tried one of those? How do they hold up against a serious chewer?

My advice? If you’re gonna go for the Kevlar option, maybe combine it with some positive reinforcement training to discourage any potential digging behaviours. Just my two cents! How else have you guys managed the digging situation with your pups?

But one observation here – while they are tough, kevlar beds aren’t very soft or comfy on their own. So what we did was throw in a nice plush blanket on top of the bed to add some coziness. Max loves it now! So, if you’re making the switch, might want to try adding some extra padding for your pup. Anyone else done this or just us?
