Just thought I would share my two cents on Pedigree dog food. Got a Lab at home and I’ve been feeding him Pedigree for a while now. I gotta say, he seems to love it! His coat’s shiny, energy level’s high and no digestion issues so far.

However, did some reading recently and found out the ingredients aren’t the best quality. It’s Full of corn, which isn’t great for dogs if it makes up a large part of their diet. It does have meat but not as the main ingredient (which we definitely want for our fur babies). So now I’m in a bit of a dilemma – stick with it since my dog likes it or switch because nutrition wise, there could be better options.

Anyone else faced this? Would love to hear your experiences or get recommendations for other healthy yet tasty dog foods out there. And no, unfortunately making our own dog food isn’t an option, due to time constraints mostly.

    Look forward to your insights!

    Thanks in advance everyone!

However, it does seem to work best when mixed with some fresh meat or vegetable bits. She goes nuts when I toss in a bit of chicken or some plain cooked pumpkin. Most vets I’ve spoken with recommend mixing in some real food anyways – it gives them variety and ensures they are getting all necessary nutrients.

Just one downside – which seems true for most dog food though – I found that the smell can be quite strong sometimes. But as long as you store it properly, you should be fine. Anyways, hope this helps! Always remember every pupper is different, so what works for mine might not work for yours. Cheers!

But here’s the hitch – Luna seems less than thrilled about it. Every mealtime turns into an episode of “The Bachelor”, will she or won’t she accept the kibble rose from Pedigree? It’s like she thinks she’s dining at a Michelin-starred restaurant and alas, Pedigree isn’t quite cutting the mustard for her taste buds.

So, take it from me friends, if you’ve got a pooch like my Max who would sell his soul to the devil for a bit of food, then yeah, go ahead and fill your pantry with stacked towers of Pedigree. But if your fur baby has a more refined palette like Lady Luna over here… Well, let’s just say there are other dog cuisines in the sea. Take it with a pinch of salt… or should I say kibble?

I’ve been feeding my golden retriever Pedigree for about 2 years now and so far, so good. I think her coat’s looking shinier and she’s full of energy all the time. The vet claims it has more to do with her age than the food, but I’m not completely sure.

Initially, I was worried about trying it out after reading a few negative reviews online. My Molly is quite picky with food and I didn’t want to upset her stomach. But here we are two years later – eating, pooping, playing just fine!

Still, every dog is unique. What works for Molly may not work for your pupper. So, if you notice even the slightest change in their behavior or health, don’t hesitate to call the vet – better safe than sorry!

Gotta go now; playtime with Molly waits for no one!
