As for the cleaning aspect someone mentioned earlier, I haven’t had any huge issues with it. The cover comes off pretty easily and we jsut throw it in the washing machine. But yeah, it is a bit of a pain to get back on… lol! Does anyone have any tips to make this easier?

But here’s the question, has anyone tried washing theirs yet? The cover says it’s removable and machine-washable, btu I’ve had bad experiences before where the bed gets totally out of shape afterward. Any tips on how to do that without ruining the bed? Would love to hear your thoughts.

    Cheers!

In my experience, it washes pretty well – doesn’t fray or lose color but it does get a tad less soft overtime, which is kinda expected. Anyone else noticed that? Or have any tips on keeping the softness post-wash?

And on the added note, have anyone tried putting in like a soft blanket after washing? My vet said it might help keep things softer longer. Curious to knwo if others have tested this!

You’re absolutely right about the Serta bed washing up just fine. My two boxers have been sharing a Serta Orthopedic Quilted Couch for years and it’s weathered plenty of washes (and muddy paws!) without issue. A smidge less soft maybe, but nothing noticeable to them it seems.

And about that blanket idea after washing – I’ve done that! Sometimes I throw in an old fleece blanket afterwards, just to give it a little softness boost you know? The pups seem to like it, sprawled out and cozy.

Has anyone else noticed if adding a blanket affects how quickly your guys wear down the bed though? Like are your fur babies digging at it more or anything? Just curious!

And about the washing part, I usually throw in a dryer sheet or two when I toss mine in the wash. Keeps it soft and smelling fresh without any of that wet dog smell hanging around. But as for a blanket? Haven’t tried it yet. Maybe next time i’ll throw one in there. After all, anything for Spot’s royal comfort, right? What kind of blanket are you guys thinking? Cotton, fleece?

I was wondering though if anyone else found the memory foam to be a bit stiff when you first got it? Ours was really ‘hard’ in the beginning but seems better now – may be Coop is just used to it now? Just curious if it was something we alone noticed or others did as well. Cheers!

What we did was to give it a couple of weeks to break in, and sure enough Beethoven started warming up to it. Now he absolutely loves the thing and hogs all of it too hahah.

On another note, anyone try those heated pet beds? I hear they’re great for older dogs with arthritis but not sure how safe they really are. Interested if anyone here’s tried ’em out and what your thoughts were? This old man Beethoven could certainly do with some heat during the cold months!

Goldie was standing on it more than sleeping on it in the beginning lol. Took her about three weeks until she started to “sink” into it. What a sight! Anyways yes, just give it a bit of time and your pooch will likely get adjusted to it.

And as an alternative – if you’re really worried about this whole stiffness thing, you could always try those waterbed style dog beds. We previously had one and let me tell ya, Goldie loved that thing! Any other fur parents here who’ve tried waterbed for their dogs? How’s your experience with them?

annd a small tip: I’ve found the cover super easy to remove and caqsh- I mean -wash. It looks jsut as snazzy post-wash too. Quite the game-changer for especially those of us dealing with muck-lovers (*cough* Bucky *cough*). So it’s really worth being patient while your furry companions warm up to it. And hey, if it still doesn’t work, there’s always the good old-fashioned method: manual relocation aka picking them up and placing them on the bed haha! 🐶💤

I’d totally agree with you on the washing part too – so easy to zip off that cover and chuck it in the wash, no hassles at all. And have you guys noticed how well it holds up? I’ve put ours through countless washes, and unlike every other bed we’ve tried, this one hasn’t lost its shape or softness. Although yeh remember not to whack it in the dryer- learnt that the hard way hah.
So definitely recommend these beds for doggos needing a bit of extra support! Anyone else found any other brands that hold up as good as this one for arthritic pups?
