ParticipantI’ve been feeding my Golden Retriever, Rufus, the Smokehouse dog treats for a little over a year now. What I particularly like about these treats is their size-suitable for a big guy like him-and not the petite morsel which would disappear in one chomp. In terms of durability, they don’t crumble quickly, and Rufus takes some time to eat it, achieving that task of keeping him engaged.
Price-wise, they are a bit on the higher end initially but considering how long-lasting they are when compared to other treats, it feels justifiable over time. And let’s not forget the material; with authentic USA-sourced meat there’s less worries about sketchy additives.
A little advice here tho: when you’re introducing new treats like this into your pup’s diet, always start slow and see how they react. Not all dogs have iron stomachs! If your fur-bud gets digestive upset consult a vet immediately.
Anyone else found a better way to introduce new treats?

Participantfellow dog owners! I’ve definitely found that the size of the Smokehouse dog treats are perfect for a mid-size to larger breed. My pup, Bella (she’s a Border Collie), takes a good while to munch through one — so it’s not just gulp and gone. Really great for keeping her occupied while I’m trying to get some work done at home!
But folks with tinier dogs might want to be careful. For smaller fur babies, consider breaking the treat into smaller pieces, at least initially, just to be safe. It’s not about how “hardy” your dogs seems, it’s more about the fit with their mouth and teeth size.
About their durability––I was pleasantly surprised! Bella is pretty much a chewer but these treats hold up well. And considering it costs less than some of those fancier brands out there, definitely worth your bucks.
A little story here: Once we ran out of Smokehouse treats and I gave Bella a different brand (won’t name names here), she sniffed it once and walked away! Haha… she’s a Smokehouse gal now for sure!
By the way, has anyone tried using these as high-value training rewards? Just curious about your experiences!

ParticipantTotally agree with you on the size of the Smokehouse dog treats, they’re just right for our medium-sized fur pals! I’ve been giving these treats to my Cocker Spaniel, Milo, and he can’t seem to get enough. Plus, they’re made from all-natural ingredients which is a relief cause I’m trying to keep his diet as healthy as possible. The only downside I’ve found is the price – it’s a bit steep especially if your pup loves them as much as Milo does. Any tips on where to snag these bad boys on sale? Gotta save those pennies, am I right?

ParticipantTotally get what all the fuss is about with the Smokehouse dog treats! My little Dachshund, Daisy absolutely adores them. I found that not only is the size jsut right for her, but these treats last a decent amount of time as well. Plus, I think the price is pretty fair for the quality you get. It’s Daisy’s “special reward” when she performs her tricks perfectly in front of guests – they never fail to impress both her and our visitors!

ParticipantOh, the Smokehouse treats are a big hit in our house too! The size is perfect for my Golden Retriever, Max. The material seems natural annd the durability is excellent – Max has to chew a bit before gobbling it down. Worth every penny, I say! However, it’s essential to ensure your dog doesn’t get too obsessed with them (learnt this the hard way when Max once dug through the pantry hunting for his treat stash!). Always remember moderation is key when it comes to treats of any kind. Has anyone else had a similar experience?

ParticipantCouldn’t agree more on the spot-on sizing of Smokehouse treats. I have an overly enthusiastic Border Collie and size is a biggy for me when it comes to treats – small enough to avoid overfeeding but large enough so he doesn’t just swallow them whole. The Smokehouse ones are perfect. Also, these treats seem to be made from pretty sturdy stuff that lasts, are your pups managing to make theirs last too or do they disappear in seconds? For those on a budget, keep an eye out for deals, they do pop up every now and then!
Just a note on introducing new treats: always monitor your pup’s reaction when trying something new. If they’re not digesting it well or showing signs of distress, better consult your vet right away.

ParticipantSpot-on with the praise for Smokehouse! I’ve got two Rottweilers, and these treats are in heavy rotation at our place. The quality is top-notch and they last a good while, keeping my boys distracted. Price is decent too, especially when you consider how long they keep the dogs occupied.
My tiny tip: try spotting when your dog starts to get crazy about the treat – this usually means it’s almost done. Take it away before your pup tries to swallow what’s left. You don’t want any choking scares (been there, not fun)!
For those with smaller or more delicate dogs, maybe Smokehouse could be a bit much. Have you tried the Bitty Bites range? They’re less ‘heavy-duty,’ but still tasty (according to my sister’s Cavapoo at least)!

ParticipantAbsolutely agree with the positive feedback on Smokehouse treats! I have a stubborn Shih Tzu who’s quite particular about her snacks, but she loooves these. One of my mates suggested them to me – said they were long-lasting and I couldn’t agree more. For their price, the durability is pretty impressive. Plus, they don’t leave any nasty residue like some other chews do – so clean-up is minimal! Anyways, anyone has tried to use them as training treats?

ParticipantWhile Smokehouse treats seem to be popular, I’ve actually had a different experience with them – my golden retriever simply didn’t take to ’em at all. The size was a little too big for her liking and she didn’t seem keen on the texture either. Instead, we switched over to Blue Buffalo Wilderness Trail Treats. These are softer, smaller sized treats made from real meat that my retriever absolutely adores. It may just be my dog’s personal preference though. Anyone else found that their pooch didn’t love smokehouse treats quite as much?

ParticipantAbsolutely on board with the praise for Smokehouse! I’ve been purchasing these robust treats for my Golden Retriever for quite some time now and he never seems to tire of them. One thing I really appreciate about these treats is their size – they’re just perfect for training, not too small to be unnoticeable and not too large to be overfeeding your dog. Plus, the ingredients seem pretty straightforward which is always a plus when it comes to pet food.
On top of all that, my buddy seems to love the flavor and it really helps during our training sessions. In fact, he picked up ‘fetch’ considerably quicker since he knew there was a tasty reward waiting!
For those having sensitive tummy troubles though, maybe try introducing these treats slowly into their diet or consult your vet before making any dietary changes.
Has anyone tried out their other flavors yet? The chicken and turkey one has been a hit in my house, wondering if the same goes for others too!
