Memberjsut a quick note though, the bed did come with a bit of a ‘new’ smell at first. We aired it out for a couple of days before letting Daisy near it. A minor hiccup, but nothing major.
Anyone else experienced this?
Happy pup parenting!
P.S: Anyone sees my typos, keep’em. They’re up free grabs, hehe!

MemberI hae to agree about the “new bed” smell, experienced that with our Sealy dog bed too. But let me tell you, in a week or so my labradoodle, Oliver seemed more than happy sprawled on it annd I guess his comfort mattered more than anything else to us. As for the durability, Jeez! It’s amazing how well it’s holding under Oliver’s zoomies. For anyone looking for a sturdy comfortable bed for their pooch, I’ve gotta say Sealy has my vote. And if the smell put anyone off initially? Air it out a bit, like we did. Did wonders!
Anyhow, any of you had experiences with other Sealy products? The Dog bed’s made me curious!

MemberOne tip I’d suggest is giving it a good airing out before you let your fur buddy hop on it. Might speed up the whole process.
I gotta say though, how are your pups reacting to the orthopedic foam? Our Riley seemed to adjust pretty quick and now he barely gives his old bed second glance!

MemberSo like many of ya’ll, the “new bed” smell of the Sealy dog bed got me too. To be honest though, I think it’s just something pretty common with brand new products. My solution? After seeing our pooch Lil’ Miss Muffin dodge the bed like some outta-world creature for a couple days was to toss a blanket in the dryer for 10mins and then throw it over the bed; she loved it. Definitely does help to mask the smell and gets them to use the bed quicker.
Also, on a side note: anyone else tried the Furhaven Orthopedic Pet Bed? We have one downstairs and seems like Muffin prefers that more than her upstairs’ Sealy… go figure! Any thoughts?

MemberOne thing to note, it held up well against our Siberian Huskie’s love for…well, let’s say “creative rearrangement”. Our livingroom usually looks like a pillow fort gone rogue after he’s done. As for thickness and comfort, nailed it! No signs of those dreaded flattened spots so far.
Has any1 tried washing the cover yet? Not seeing many comments about how that worked out.

MemberI know some folks have mentioned the price being steep; Yea it is, but I’d consider it a worthy investment long term. I mean, how manny cheaper ones have we bought that lasted only for months? And as for the comfort level – my fur babies adore it. Can’t get ‘em off sometimes.
Has anyone else experienced any wear and tear after prolonged use though? Just curious if it’s really built to last as they advertise.

MemberI did notice tho, that after a while the bed seems to sag in the middle. Anyone else face this issue? Is there any way to fluff up the middle again or should I be eyeing a replacement?
Also to those saying it’s expensive – 100% agree but soo worth it if you’ve got an older doggo who appreciates extra comfort. I notice Rex limping less since we switched!

MemberRegarding the sagging issue…I didn’t notice any until about 8 months in. Started throwing a blanket folded up in the middle and it seemed to help with that issue.
As long as we’re talking alternatives, I’ve been eyeing this orthopedic one from PetFusion – anyone tried them out? They claim to have better ‘shape retention’. Might be a good option if sagging is an issue for y’all.

MemberAnyone else try bulking up the middle with an old pillow or blanket? Got any tips for maintaing the “fluffoo” factor (as I like to call it)? What other dog bed brands have you tried that hold up better to sagging syndrome? 🐶💤

MemberSo here’s what I did instead: I gave good ol’ Sealy a call. They were pretty understanding annd suggested loosening up and fluffing out the foam chunks inside via the zipper on the underside (who know that was a thing!). Tried it out, and voila! A little bit effort into fluffing it up once in a while but definite improvement seen. Cleared up our sagging problem for Max just fine.
Although gotta say, considering we’re talking abut Sealy here, kinda surprised this issue exists to begin with! Anyone else call em up for this? Did they suggest something different? Just curious. Always almost ready to solve Max’s bed problem but need every help I can get!

Memberthere, just chipping in on the conversation around adding extra padding to the Sealy bed. I tried it with my bruiser of a Boxer, Max – threw in an old comforter and zipped it back up. To my surprise, not only did he adore the added fluffiness but I noticed fewer cleanups on the surrounding floor. The comforter seemed to absorb any stray hairs – resulting in a kind of unintentional lint roller effect!
As for maintenance folks, remember the outer cover is machine washable (highest setting please!). It’s held up well with weekly washes for me – hasn’t shrunk or faded yet.
I can’t comment on calling the company as some have suggested…seems a bit OTT to me with a dog bed issue 😂 But kudos for tenacity! And hey, if they’ve got a magic fix for chew-proofing it? Go ahead and ping it my way too!
Cheers gang,
